Andy Priaulx’s weekend did not start well.  In qualifying he was sixth, however was penalised 10 positions, due to an overnight engine change before it was allowed, which took him from 6th to 16th on the start grid of the first race.

The Chevrolet Cruze’s of Yvan Muller & Rob Huff dominated and took the top two places with independent Colin Turkington taking 3rd, just ahead of Gabriele Tarquini who was followed by Tom Coronel, Augusto Farfus.  Alain Menu did not have a good race and received a 30 second penalty for unsportsman like behaviour, due to him slowing down to try and take 7th, so he could gain advantage being on the first row via the reverse grid order for the second race.  This meant he was moved down to 22nd and his weekend was as good as over.

Priaulx was the man to take 8th in the end and started on pole, holding the lead all the way to the line.  Turkington’s finish in the second race was even better than his first, as he helped BMW and the Brits take a one-two, with Tarquini also moving up a place into 3rd.  Muller only managed to take 5th meaning the drivers championship is still open…

Muller is on 199 points with Tarquini in second with 176 points, Priaulx 148 with Huff just 18 points behind.
